Mat Armstrong just took on one of his biggest projects yet: a 22-meter Italian yacht. After buying the 1991 yacht, Mat Armstrong discovered that one of the massive Mercedes V12 marine engines was overheating, with the previous owner reportedly facing a £100,000 repair quote. Mat began investigating the yacht’s cooling system, including the seawater pump, heat exchanger, thermostats, and head gaskets. But Mat eventually discovered that a seawater valve was completely closed, preventing proper seawater flow through the engine cooling system. After Mat reopened the valve and tested the engine, the yacht ran for around an hour and a half without reaching the same overheating temperature. Now Matt Armstrong has a huge yacht restoration project involving Mercedes V12 engines, marine engineering, yacht repair, luxury yachts, boat restoration, engine repair, Italian yachts, yacht maintenance, and the transformation of a 22-meter yacht.
