Luxury watch brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet are CRASHING! Many would say the watch market has totally collapsed. I recently purchased a Rolex Daytona Green Dial and in the course of six months the watch doubled in value! However now that the watch market is crashing I am seeing losses on the highs by as much as 50%. I have and had no intentions of selling my Rolex watch as my intent is to hold it as a store of value.
I believe now that crypto is crashing we are seeing more investors lean into selling their watches and luxury items due to the major sell off in cryptocurrencies. I believe that the watch market will continue to sell off and we will see more and more values in watches come in the next six months to a year.
That being said, I think there will be a huge buying opportunity in luxury watches very soon. My favorite watch right now is the Patek Phillipe Nautilus 5990, this watch two years ago was roughly !100k however now that same watch hit highs of almost $400,000!
That being said, many watches can become a store of value and collectors and watch investors know this and are standing by awaiting opportunities.
