Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, and Panerai join the breakfast club as watch collectors “wake up with watches” and host, Tim Mosso. Today’s show consists entirely of selections from WatchBox’s “May Event” sale, which is in effect until May 10. Watches selected for this sale include our finest chronographs, dive watches, dress watches, tourbillon watches, GMT watches, and ultra thin watches. All watches in the May event sale are offered at discounts of up to 40 percent off regular pricing.

Tim rarely features vintage Rolex watches on the show, and today’s episode is a May Event exception. The 1998 “A-Series” Rolex Daytona recalls the heyday of the “Zenith” Daytona and its El Primero-based caliber 4030 automatic movement. This example is a late example of the A-series with a factory Rolex super luminova dial. Fans of tritium dials will thrill to the inclusion of a vintage 1975 Rolex Submariner Date with matching bezel, hands, and dial that exhibit symmetrical patina.

Omega watches rival Rolex for refinement with value the Geneva giant struggles to match. The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M in steel and yellow gold is a 21st century take on the beloved aesthetic of the 80s and 90s with a movement, case, and bracelet built to 2020 standards. The Seamaster Railmaster “Blue Jeans” is a 2018 Baselworld novelty that combines steel, leather, and blue denim to create Omega’s most distinctive Railmaster.

Fans of Grand Seiko are treated to a giant killer: the 2018 Spring Drive “Kira Zuri” SBGA385. While standard Spring Drive models offer value, the handmade and hand-finished SBGA385 is a platinum limited edition of 20 pieces with a “hot rod” Spring Drive caliber 9R15 movement accurate to +/- 10 seconds per month.

Patek Philippe watches offer the highest standards of finish and features, and today’s show is no exception. The 5960P annual calendar flyback chronograph is a 40.5mm platinum milestone; it features Patek’s first in-house automatic chronograph caliber. This 5960P includes an extra collectible detail; the Geneva Hallmark that Patek offered only from 2006 to 2009 on the 5960. A Patek Philippe 5204/1R Perpetual Calendar Split Seconds Chronograph offers an opulent matching bracelet in rose gold.
