This week Mat Armstrong tried to sail his old yacht, Capri, home from Spain, because shipping it would have cost more than 70,000 pounds. Day one, dolphins swam with the boat. Day two was ten hours of rough sea in the Bay of Biscay. On day three the wind ripped off a flag tied to the antenna, and the radar went with it, just before a night run through a wind farm. They made it through, but Storm Austen stopped them in Brest, short of the UK.
