This week Destination Thailand features the award winning Veranda Resort & Spa between Hua Hin and Cha Am.
There are some places you know are truly special the moment you arrive……
I’m Raine, and I’m Sam and together we have made our way to the gulf of Thailand to show you the lovely Veranda Hua Hin Cha Am Resort.
The resort, just an easy 2 hour drive south of Bangkok, is located on one of the widest stretches of beachfront between the traditional Thai resort towns of Cha Am and Hua Hin.
This beach side escape has been a favorite Thai royal and aristocratic retreat since the 1920’s and it’s not hard to see why international visitors can’t stay away as well.
The Veranda resort has only 118 rooms all set on several hectares of manicured gardens, huge trees, tropical palms and soothing water features.
The resort has been designed with careful consideration of the principals of Feng Shui. Maybe that’s why it feels so good to be here….
The resort pool is one of the most inviting you’re likely to find anywhere you travel.
The infinity edge blends with the blue of the sea and you’ll be tempted to chill out here or on the wooden pool decking all day long.
The beach here is one of the widest in this area.
Food is one of the great joys of travel and that sentiment is even more appropriate here……Breakfast is a buffet that is sinfully tempting…..
The lovely ISEA restaurant on the beach has a modern Thai menu to die for…..
How can you resist dishes like this: Rock Lobster Kow Soy, Lamb Rack with Thai spices, Hua Hin tuna Tartar and crepes with raison crème cheese. Ahhhh, I’m in heaven……
The resort’s sleek and contemporary Thai architecture and design extends from the lovely lobby and right into your room. The deluxe rooms have big beds and luxurious bathtubs and the wide balconies overlook gardens and ponds.
Or you can upgrade to a family size Jacuzzi room.
No wonder so many people head here for weddings and honeymoons.
If you are travelling with youngsters, the water slide and the mini shoreline sand pit next to the swimming pool makes for great fun. Or they could play all day in the supervised kid’s club. The resort can also arrange a baby-sitting service should you need some down time.
The spa has a good range of face and body treatments that all make the most of Thai herbal ingredients and aromatic oils.
All this relaxation in paradise is wonderful but if you do want to explore then Hua Hin is right at your doorstep.
The resort offers a free-shuttle service for the 15 minute ride into town.
There are several top golf courses in this part of Thailand, along with fantastic water parks……..elephant camps…….local markets……sea and river cruises …..and quaint beachside escapes where you can ride a horse or just chill on the sand .
There are heaps of restaurants and local Spas here too.
Next time you head to Hua Hin or Cha Am, take a break at the lovely Veranda Resort.
