Jeffrey Epstein’s notorious “Lolita Express” – the private jet on which Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor flew – sits abandoned in a remote American aircraft boneyard.
Anyone looking at the decaying Boeing in the heat and humidity in Georgia would be forgiven for failing to realise its notorious history. For Epstein’s victims, as well as the rich and famous who flew on it, the plane is a stark reminder of a scandal that reached the highest circles of power.
The 133-foot 727, tail number N908JE – the final letters a nod to Epstein’s initials – has been grounded since July 2016. It rests on a concrete slab, streaked with grime, its white fuselage now scarred by dark weather stains sandwiched between aircraft formerly owned by actor John Travolta and disgraced fashion mogul Peter Nygard.
