What was the top model number sold in 2022?
With its versatile stainless steel finish, older-style black aluminum bezel, and matching black dial, it isn’t hard to see why so many Rolex enthusiasts adore the Rolex 16610 and why it has been our top seller of 2022.
Top Dial Color: Black. While Rolex mostly adheres to classic hues when it comes to their dials, the company has experimented with bolder and brighter colors in recent years. Still, black remains our top seller.
Top Metal Finish: Stainless steel. Steel Rolex sports watches continue to dominate the secondary market.
Top Bracelet Sold: Three-link Oyster bracelet. The alternative is the classic five-link Jubilee bracelet, which often lends itself to a dressier aesthetic than the Oyster bracelet.
Top Model Sold: The Oyster Perpetual Datejust.
Rolex released the Datejust in 1945. With over seventy years of production under its belt, it’s safe to say that the Datejust is one of the brand’s most successful models ever produced.
The Most Searched Watch in 2022: The Rolex GMT Master II ref. 16710.
The GMT Master has the appeal of a classic pilot’s watch, featuring a 24-hour bezel and dual timekeeping capabilities. It’s no surprise that it was our most searched watch of 2022.
The Most Expensive Rolex Sold in 2022: The Platinum Rolex Daytona with a diamond dial. The iced-out Daytona features Rolex’s most exquisite materials, including flawless 950 platinum. We sold an example of the coveted watch in 2022 for a cool $212k.
The Top 4 States That Purchased Luxury Watches: California, Texas, Florida, and New York.

The Top Inside Watches Episode: “Pateted” Rolex. This episode showcased the rare Rolex typo found on some 9315 Oyster bracelets produced during the 1970s. On these bracelets, the clasps were stamped “pateted” instead of “patented.”
