Some nice footage on the RC model of the mega yacht “Moonraker”. “Moonraker” once was the world record keeper for the fastest Mega Yacht. She reached around 67 knots! Later this record was beaten by the Yacht “The World is not Enough”.
The model is a kit from German company Graupner and she is kept in the scale 1/25. The propulsion system is based – equal to the full size – on three water jets, whereas the two outer ones are steerable and the middle jet is a booster for additional power.
Nicely seen in the video is how the model climbs out of the water and starts “flying” across the waves.
But – and this is from painful personal experiance – it is a fast thing and an impact on an obstacle leaves some damage….
