Inside a Fully Automated Luxury Home!

About a year ago this home was an empty shell of studs and wire. You watched us pre-wire it. You watched the rough-in. Today, we walk through the almost finished home — every light, every shade, every speaker, and every screen running on one Control4 system.

This is the full final walkthrough: lighting, shades, audio, video, climate, access control, and security, all integrated and all controlled from the Control4 Halo Touch, keypad dimmers, or a phone. No room full of remote, Just walk in and live.

THE SHADES STORY
Every window in this house wears Hunter Douglas — Pirouette shades in the study that open their vanes to let the light pour in, and dual shades with room-darkening liners in the primary bedroom and game room. Johan demos them three ways: from the Halo Touch, from the Control4 keypad dimmers, and from the Hunter Douglas PowerView app, where one scene opens the whole room — or opens itself at sunrise.

INSIDE THE RACK
The brain of the home: a 2.5-gig network, a Control4 Core 3 controller, a Luma NVR feeding PoE IP cameras, an Episode matrix amplifier for the stereo zones, two full 5.1 surround systems for the family room and game room, and a WattBox UPS keeping the important gear alive when the power blips. The rack pulls out for service, with video, power, and data dressed separately — because the system you never see should be built like the rooms you do.

ROOM BY ROOM
A last-minute TV in the primary bathroom (and the one honest exception to IP control in the house), a Samsung Frame TV with its matte anti-glare finish paired with 6-inch Klipsch in-ceiling speakers in the primary bedroom, an upstairs gym wired for sound, the biggest screen in the house — an 85-inch Samsung in the game room — and four outdoor satellite speakers wrapping the pool. Even the pool runs through Control4.

The coolest system is the one you don’t have to control.
