At the heart of the tour is Patrick’s lifelong passion for cars, revealed through an extraordinary collection of dedicated automotive spaces. Explore his carriage house and spectacular post-and-beam car barn, built with Amish craftsmen, before stepping inside his personal collection of treasured American classics and rare Porsches. From a 1958 Porsche Speedster and remarkably low-mileage 993-generation 911 to a 1964 Studebaker Avanti and 1956 Ford Thunderbird, each car has its own story and reflects the close relationship between automotive design and architecture that has influenced Patrick throughout his life and career.
The episode then heads into Boston’s Back Bay for an inside look at Patrick Ahearn Architect’s studio on Newbury Street, where Patrick shares his creative process and reflects on a career spanning more than five decades. Finally, we visit his beautifully reimagined pied-à-terre on Marlborough Street, where intricate millwork, traditional architectural detailing and a private rooftop terrace overlooking Boston provide a fitting conclusion to this personal exploration of Patrick’s architecture, passions and way of life.
