The Majesty 145 makes a bold promise. At 45.3 metres, with six guest cabins, two pools, a sauna, gym, transatlantic range and a top speed of 22 knots, it offers a specification that would normally command a significantly higher price from many European shipyards. Yet hull number one came in at just $22.7 million.
So the question isn’t whether the Majesty 145 has plenty of features. The question is whether Gulf Craft has built the best-value superyacht in its class.
In this exclusive YachtBuyer sea trial and review, Jack Haines puts the Majesty 145 to the test, examining not only the accommodation, engineering and onboard amenities, but also the performance, cruising capability and practicality that matter to owners operating a yacht of this size.
What impressed us most is just how much yacht Gulf Craft has managed to package into 420GT. From the twin-pool arrangement and six-cabin layout to the huge crew areas, infrared sauna, gym, and expansive deck spaces, the Majesty 145 delivers a level of specification that’s difficult to ignore.
Performance is equally impressive. Twin 2,400hp MTUs deliver a top speed of 22 knots, while a range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles at displacement speeds gives the yacht genuine long-range cruising capability. Add in a relatively shallow draft for a yacht of this size, and destinations like the Bahamas become much more accessible than they would be aboard many steel competitors.
The fit and finish may not quite match the very best Italian shipyards, but as Jack concludes in the review, you’re certainly not getting less yacht for your money. In many respects, you’re getting more.
